Robins are finally here!

I saw my first robin and it snowed that night.  Everything was snowy white again and by mid-day it was all melted from the sun even thou it is 30 degrees, burrrr!

Well, I finished all of my baskets for "Spring Fling" in Rockton, IL this weekend.  I can't wait to see my weaving friends and meet new ones.  I think they will like some of my new baskets.  I wove around a Crystal Light container, cut a slot in it's top, covered it with felt and now it is a coin bank.  Another basket that is so sweet and simple, I wove around a glass flower frogg.  Perfect for pens and sicissor collecters.  I also made another pinkeep, that I think stitcher's would like to add to their pinkeep collection.  Check out BASKET BEES.BIZ  then look under Patterns.

My friend Ann made some beautiful basket tie-ons.  She painted on some deer antlers and some wooden discs. Beautiful mini paintings of different flowers on her tie-ons. And she also made 2 double walled baskets.  Ann is a very talented basket weaver.

So, Spring and the robins are here, we only have to wait for the warm weather to get here. Enjoy the weekend.   with little bee-hugs,   Debby

Spring is coming, Spring is coming!

No, I haven't seen a robin yet, but I have alot of squirrels at my "Pandora's box" a squirrel feeder.  Does that count?  I guess not.  Squirrels are here all winter.  I know the robins are in Iowa.  They are on their way.

Gas is $3.47 just savin' 2 cents per gallon.

After seeing what is happening in Japan with their nuclear power, I am in love with windmills.  Free power, very few birds are killed, birds aren't dummies.  I think this will wake up America.

Winter Wonderland

It is breath taking outside with the beauty of the snow clinging to the trees. It's a winter wonderland.    ;-)  You would think I would or should be tired of this Wisconsin snow, but this snow fall is the kind that I wish I could capture in a picture and soak it in.  With out being cold ofcoarse.  I hate being cold or toooo warm, ick!
We have a small opossum that is wondering our yard looking for food.  We have a plastic bucket that we keep just outside the patio door for potato peelings and other veggie scraps that we take out to the mulch pile when the snow piles are low.  Well, this opossum which my DH calls a "mole " loves to forage through this bucket tipping it over making a mess on deck.  The "mole" also checks out the mulch pile for veggie goodies.  I think he would rather have a hot dog or something with meat.  He is ugly but in a cute way, if that's possible.
Gas is $3.49, and has been this price for about a week now.
I finished my basket for Basket Bees that will be the free base and pattern for 2011.  It's  Salt & Pepper Basket with a wrapped handle and I added charm.  I found a crystal salt and pepper shaker set at an antique store for a great price.  I thought they should be in a small basket to give them alittle more character than just standing on the dining table kind of looking "naked".   I hope everyone at the basket conventions and workshops will like this cutie.
